Heavy rainfall: Vice President unable to visit Guruvayur, helicopter returns to Kochi

KOCHI: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was unable to proceed with his planned visit to Guruvayur due to adverse weather conditions. The helicopter he was travelling in could not land at the Guruvayur helipad because of heavy rains. The landing was originally scheduled for 8:40 AM at the helipad of Guruvayur Sreekrishna College. With the landing not feasible, the Vice President returned to Kochi.

The Vice President arrived in Kerala for a two-day visit. Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, the Vice President reached Nedumbassery aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft. He was received by Governor Rajendra Arlekar. Family members Abha Vajpayee and Karthikeya Vajpayee also accompanied the Vice President on this visit.

Industries Minister P. Rajeev, MP Adv. Haris Beeran, Chief Secretary Dr. A. Jayathilak, DGP Ravada Chandrashekhar, District Collector N.S.K. Umesh, Rural SP M. Hemalatha, CIAL Managing Director S. Suhas, and State Protocol Officer M.S. Harikrishnan arrived at the airport to receive the Vice President. Reports indicate that the Vice President is scheduled to depart for Delhi from Nedumbassery Airport at 12:35 PM.
