PATHANAMTHITTA: The District Collector declared a holiday for schools operating as relief camps in Pathanamthitta district tomorrow. Six schools are operating as relief camps in the district. Apart from these schools, 15 other schools will also observe a holiday tomorrow, as the district continues to receive heavy rainfall.

A yellow alert was issued only for Kannur and Kasaragod districts for the next three days. The Indian Meteorological Department defines heavy rainfall as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours.

A low-pressure area is located over northwest Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan. The low-pressure area along the coast from the Gujarat coast to the north Kerala coast has weakened. In this situation, light/moderate rain is likely in Kerala for the next five days. Isolated heavy rain is possible on July 28 and 29. Strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kmph are likely in Kerala from July 28 to 30.
