House destroyed after new unused gas cylinder explodes, man, son injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A house caught fire after a gas cylinder exploded at Thannimoodu in the capital city. A man and his son sustained injuries in the accident. An unused gas cylinder exploded leading to the accident.

The accident happened early Friday morning, The injured has been identified as Shajahan of Thannimoodu and his son Nihan. The cylinder kept in the kitchen exploded. Another cylinder being used was also there. The kitchen and a bedroom adjacent to the house have been completely destroyed.

Shajahan, his wife and son were at home at the time of the incident. Shajahan was sleeping in his room and he sustained nearly 25% burns. He has been admitted at the medical college hospital. Nihan sustained injuries while falling down from his bed.
