KSRTC: 2,525 employees reported for duty amid strike, 52 buses operated

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amid the call for a 48-hour strike by the central trade unions, 2,525 employees, including 2,391 permanent employees, reported for duty at KSRTC yesterday. However, the depot authorities did not allow the bus service to operate accordingly. Only 52 services, including emergency services, were operated yesterday.

KSRTC currently has 18,757 employees, including 18,145 permanent employees and 612 temporary employees. 428 had applied for leave. While 13.46% of the total staff arrived, only 1.31% of the total service was done. KL Rajesh, general secretary of KST Employees Sangh said that the KSRTC employees went to work in strong opposition to the stand of the left and right unions.
