Landslide at Thamarassery Pass; road blocked by trees and rocks; traffic disrupted

THAMARASSERY: Traffic was disrupted after soil, trees and stones fell on the road near the ninth bend of Thamarassery Pass View Point. The fire force has reached the spot and started removing the stones and trees. Efforts are now being made to prepare the road for single-lane traffic in a place where even pedestrian travel is not possible. Traffic on this road to Wayanad came to a standstill following the incident. The pass was completely closed.

Passengers of vehicles passing through this road during the landslide barely escaped unharmed. Tipper lorries and JCBs arrived to try to remove the soil, but were not completely successful. With this, vehicles that were supposed to pass through this road were diverted via Kuttiyadi Pass.
