LONDON: The Europe-UK regional conference, which is part of the Loka Kerala Sabha (LKS), will be held in London on October 9. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the conference at St James Court Hotel in London at 9 am (IST 1.30 pm). The conference is being held with the aim of expanding the activities of the Lok Kerala Sabha along with implementing the recommendations of the third Lok Kerala Sabha held in Thiruvananthapuram last June.
Members of LKS in European region and invited guests from various fields will participate in the conference. Keralites from social, cultural and political fields, student representatives, health workers are also invitees in the function.
Discussions will be held in the conference on four topics including New Kerala Construction Hopes, Possibilities and Role of Expatriates, Building Knowledge Societies and Expat World, LKS Expat Society and Organizations, European Migration Experiences and Challenges. Planning Board Vice Chairman Prof. VK Ramachandran, Norka Roots Vice Chairman P Sreeramakrishnan, State Planning Board Member Dr. K Ravi Raman, Norka Roots Director Dr. M. Anirudhan will lead the discussions.
A conference of expat Keralites is also being organized in connection with the regional conference. The CM and other ministers will address the public conference at 4 pm (8.30 pm IST).
Apart from the Chief Minister, Ministers P Rajeev, V Sivankutty, Veena George, Norka Principal Secretary Suman Billa, Delhi government OSD Venu Rajamani, Norka Roots Vice Chairman M A Yousafali, Directors Ravi Pillai, Azad Moopan, O V Mustafa, CV Rappai, JK Menon, CEO K Harikrishnan Namboothiri and General Manager Ajith Kolassery will also attend the event.
Such regional conferences are held with the aim of increasing expatriate cooperation and interactions. This is the second conference of its kind to be held in London. The first regional conference was held in UAE in 2019.
