thiruvananthapuram-hussai

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan came down heavily on KNM vice-president Hussain Madavoor during a face-to-face event. The Chief Minister criticized Hussain for propagating falsehoods related to the case of an attack on a priest of St Mary's Forane Church in Poonjar.

Hussain Madavoor during the event expressed concern about police arresting only Muslim youths to which an irked CM responded harshly. The Chief Minister termed the incident that happened in Erattupetta as “Hooliganism”.

“What kind of hooliganism was that? A church priest was tried to run over by a car. His quick reflex proved handy and he somehow escaped. All the youth involved were Muslims, so all were arrested. People like Hussain Madavoor should not spread falsehoods. There may be mistakes on the part of the police. If there is any, action can be taken if it is brought to our attention”-. The Chief Minister said.

A total of 27 students were arrested in the accident of which ten of them were minors. All were granted bail.
