One of two children stuck in Eratttayar tunnel dies, search continues for other

KATTAPPANA: One of the two children who got stuck in the Erattayar tunnel has died. The dead is 13-year-old Athul alias Ambadi, son of Ponnappan of Kayamkulam and Rajitha. The search is on for the other child who was with Athul. A search is conducted at Erattayar and Anchuruli.

The children were swept away by strong undercurrents near the Erattayar Tunnel, which is part of Idukki reservoir. The accident happened when the children visited their relative at Erattayar Chelakkal. A search is on for Appu, son of Ratheesh of Upputhara Valakkod and Soumya.
