PALAKKAD: A close friend of Ashirnanda from St. Dominic's Convent English Medium School, Sreekrishnapuram, handed over the latter’s suicide note to police, strengthening the allegations raised against teachers.

As per the statement, Ashirnanda had written a few lines on the back page of her friend’s notebook to express the mental torture and humiliation she endured. In the note, Ashirnanda blamed the role of teachers Ambili and Archana and the mental torture she received from another teacher, Stella Babu. This note has now been handed over to the police.

Meanwhile, the Child Rights Commission under Commission Chairperson KV Manojkumar will visit Ashirnanda's house and the school tomorrow. The school management came forward today, admitting its lapses in the incident. With the principal of the school being dismissed, the vice principal will be appointed as the acting principal. Classes will begin on Monday. New PTA office bearers will also be elected. A new counsellor will be appointed for the children. Counselling will also be provided to the teachers. The school management also announced that the complaints of parents will be heard.

The other day, 14-year-old Ashirnanda was found hanging on the second floor of her house. Relatives had alleged serious mental torture from teachers after Ashirnanda dropped marks in examinations. As per reports, the ninth-standard student was made to sit in another class, created exclusively for students performing poorly in academics. This is rumoured to have caused distress and humiliation in the student, who even expressed her trauma over being taken away from her friends.

Various student organisations reached the school and protested over the drastic incident.
