Parassala SHO Anil Kumar suspended for running over man in Kilimanoor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Parassala Station House Officer Anil Kumar has been suspended in the case of running over an elderly man in Kilimanoor. The action was taken by South Zone IG Shyam Sundar. The elderly man had died after being hit by the car driven by Anil Kumar. Anil Kumar, who did not stop the car, is presently absconding.


A case has been registered against Anil Kumar for recklessly causing an accident by speeding and failing to stop. Anil Kumar went absconding after a case was registered under the non-bailable section. Rajan died after being hit by Anil Kumar's car on September 7.


Anil Kumar had earlier confessed to the crime in the incident. Anil Kumar's explanation is that a person fell on the side of the vehicle and then got up and walked away. Anil Kumar has been charged with a crime that carries a jail term of 10 years.


Anil Kumar left Parassala station without the permission of his superiors and went to his house in Thattathumala. It is reported that he did not stop the vehicle as he left the station without the permission of his superiors. The Kilimanoor police have taken the car, which was left in the workshop after the accident to destroy evidence, into custody.

Rajan of Chenikuzhi in Kilimanoor was killed when his speeding car hit him. Rajan lay bleeding on the road for half an hour. He was dead by the time he was taken to the hospital.
