THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Plus Two student suffered serious injuries after being attacked by pet dogs in Sreekaryam. The dogs, which were of the Belgian Malinois breed, belonged to a man named Kabeer from Babuji Nagar in Pongumoodu. The girl and her friends were returning from school this afternoon when the dogs charged at them and attacked her.

According to locals, the attack happened because the dangerous dogs were let loose carelessly. Hearing the girls' scream, locals rushed to the spot and chased the dogs away. The injured girl was immediately rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for treatment. The girl's father has lodged a complaint with the Sreekaryam police against the dog owners.
