'Prayar Gopalakrishnan and Ajay Tharayil responsible for handing over Vaji Vahana'

ALAPPUZHA: Former Devaswom Board president and Congress leader Prayar Gopalakrishnan and board member Ajay Tharayil are responsible for handing over the Vaji Vahanam to Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru, said K Raghavan, a CPM representative in the Devaswom Board. He also clarified that no discussion related to the handing over of the Vaji Vahanam took place in the board meetings he attended.

"The decision to replace the old flagpole and install a new one was taken before I joined the Devaswom Board. I was not present at any of those meetings. Prayar Gopalakrishnan and Ajay Tharayil were the administrators of the Devaswom Board at that time. No matter related to the handover of the Vaji Vahanam or the construction of the flagpole was discussed in the meetings of the Devaswom Board. I have no knowledge about this," K Raghavan clarified.

Ajay Tharayil had earlier said that the handover of the Vaji Vahana to the Tantri was done as per the tradition and with the knowledge of K Raghavan. The CPM leader has responded in this situation.
