Railway tracks submerged in heavy downpour; Trains running through Thiruvananthapuram to be delayed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following heavy rains, the tracks at Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station were waterlogged. It is learnt that the first and second tracks of the station are still flooded. Railway officials informed that trains departing from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station and those passing through Thiruvananthapuram Central will be slightly delayed. Malabar Express is running 28 minutes late. Chennai Express will be delayed. Efforts are being made to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, a green alert was declared in all districts in the state today. There is a possibility of light rain. For the next five days, there will be less rain in most districts. The Indian Meteorological Department informed that there will be no hindrance to fishing on the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts today.

Strong winds and rain are possible in the upcoming hours. Power outages are likely.
