KOLLAM: The Special Investigation Team questioned Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru throughout the day on Thursday at the Kollam Police Club in connection with the Sabarimala gold theft case.
The Tantri was produced before the Kollam Vigilance Court in the morning, which granted the investigation team one day of custody. He was questioned after being subjected to a medical examination at the Kollam District Hospital. Investigators sought more clarity on his relationship with the first accused, Unnikrishnan Potty, and the financial transactions between them. After the questioning, he was produced before the court again and sent back to jail. The court will consider the bail plea filed by the Tantri on the 28th of this month.
Meanwhile, the bail plea filed by former Devaswom Board Administrative Officer Murari Babu in the door frame case and the Dwarapalaka idol case will be considered today. Murari Babu was arrested in both cases on October 22. The bail application was filed after the completion of 90 days in custody. He has argued that he is entitled to statutory bail as the chargesheet has not been filed within the stipulated time. Advocate Siju Rajan appeared in court for the prosecution.
