Sasikumari, granddaughter of Dr Palpu, passes away

KOCHI: Sasikumari (90), wife of the late former Advocate General K. Sudhakaran, passed away on Thursday morning. She was the granddaughter of Dr P. Palpu and the niece of Nataraja Guru. She was admitted to Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital following health complications, but passed away despite medical care. The funeral will be held today at 2 pm at the Ravipuram crematorium.

Sasikumari was the daughter of Dakshayani, the daughter of Dr P. Palpu. She was a painter and a singer, and shared a close bond with her uncle, Nataraja Guru. Her brothers were the late Siddharthan (retired scientist, ISRO) and the late Ravindranath (engineer).

She is survived by her children, Radharamnan (cinematographer) and Ushakumari (Palakkad). Her in-laws are Bindu and Dr Vishnu Mohan (eye specialist, Palakkad).
