PALAKKAD: Reports said the condition of the woman from Palakkad, who tested positive for Nipah, remains critical. The 38-year-old woman, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Perinthalmanna, was shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Meanwhile, the police are trying to find the migrant worker, who is on her contact list. The health minister had informed that information has been received that he is in Malappuram.
The migrant worker had reached a private hospital in Mannarkkad. After examining the CCTV footage, it was found that he is also on the primary contact list. The police' special investigation team has intensified search to find him.
Health Minister Veena George had informed that there are 461 people on the contact list. Of these, 252 are in Malappuram and 209 in Palakkad. 27 are on the high-risk list. They are undergoing treatment in Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Ernakulam. The minister was speaking at a meeting held at the Collectorate to assess the Nipah prevention activities.
Out of the two health workers undergoing treatment at Manjeri Medical College Hospital, one is a CT scan technician. The minister said that out of the 48 people on the contact list, 46 tested negative. Of these, 23 are in Manjeri Medical College and 23 in Kozhikode. The minister had also clarified that all those on the high-risk list have been quarantined.
