Senior journalist and Deshabhimani former news editor Thulasi Bhaskaran passes away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thulasi Bhaskaran, veteran journalist and former editor of CPM mouthpiece and vernacular daily Deshabhimani, passed away on Monday. She was 77. Thulasi was undergoing treatment at Ananthapuri Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram where she breathed her last. A native of Nedumangad, Thulasi Bhaskaran was the first woman news editor of Deshabhimani. She was currently residing in Manjalikulam Dhamaralayam road.

Thulasi’s husband is the late C Bhaskaran, the first All India President of SFI, former editor of Chinta Publishers and CPI-M leader. Children: Major Dinesh Bhaskar (Assistant Private Secretary to the Chief Minister), Late Manesh Bhaskaran. Srilekha Dinesh and Ponni Manesh are her daughter-in-laws.
