Senior Police official found hanging at home in Kollam

KOLLAM: A police official was found dead inside his residence in Kottarakkara on Sunday. Kottarakkara Nileshwaram native Ananda Hariprasad was found hanging inside his house.

Ananda Hariprasad is a senior civil police officer at Pathanamthitta police station. His mother had died two weeks ago. As per colleagues, Ananda was drawn to severe mental depression over the death of his mother. No suicide notes or hints have been found in the house.

The body has been kept at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital and will be handed over to the relatives after a postmortem at Parippally Medical College. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
