THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The march staged by SFI activists to Raj Bhavan against Governor Rajendra Arlekar turned violent. They staged the march to Raj Bhavan Thursday afternoon. The police tried to prevent the protest using barricades. The police stopped them when they tried to push the barricades. The police used water cannons, but the protesters remained there, unwilling to disperse. Despite the continuous use of water cannons, the activists climbed on top of the barricades and protested.

The police have tightened security around Raj Bhavan. The police are in a situation where they cannot use water cannons as the water in the tank got over. The police have warned to use tear gas. The decision to use tear gas comes after the activists failed to disperse. However, despite the warning, the protest is still continuing.
