THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Electoral Officer Dr Rathan U. Kelkar has said that VIP and expatriate voters can complete the verification process by submitting the required documents without personally attending the hearing. If the submitted documents are found satisfactory, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) has the authority to complete the process immediately.
He said that when expatriate or VIP voters receive a hearing notice, they can submit the relevant documents on the scheduled date without appearing in person before the ERO or AERO. If the documents are satisfactory, the verification will be completed and the voters will be included in the electoral roll.
Dr. Kelkar added that the ERONET system has been made fully functional to facilitate this process for expatriate and VIP voters.
