'Skull crushed, serious eye injury; Accused students used blunt weapon'

KOZHIKODE: The Preliminary post-mortem report of Shahbaz, who was killed in a brutal gang attack by students in Thamarassery, is out. In the report, it is mentioned that Shahbaz's skull portion above the right ear was fractured. The report also mentions that a blunt weapon was used to attack Shahbaz. Injuries were also spotted in the eye of the victim.

Shahbaz was first taken to the Thamarassery Taluk Hospital and later to the Medical College after he vomited at home and got fatigued.

Shahbaz was a student of Higher Secondary School in Elettil Vattoli. Last Sunday, there was a clash between the 10th-grade students at the tuition center regarding a small altercation that happened some days back during a farewell party at the tuition center.

During the function, the song for which a girl student of Elettil school was dancing suddenly paused inviting boos and howling from students of Thamarassery school. This is said to be the mainspring for the fight. The phone on which the song was playing suddenly got switched off, leading to the embarrassment.

Police have charged murder charges against five 10th class students. Their bail application was rejected. All five will be sent to the juvenile home. However, the juvenile justice board permitted all of them to appear for the upcoming SSLC examinations.

The female student of Elettil school suddenly confronted the students who howled at her. The verbal argument led to the clash. When the children clashed, the teachers intervened and stopped the program. Meanwhile, there were calls and discussions on social media to settle the deal.
