THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nine including teachers and students have been hospitalized after a plus two student used pepper spray. The incident happened at Punnamoodu Government Higher Secondary School in Kalliyoor. Seven students and two teachers sought treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital.
A teacher fainted after pepper spray was used. Six have been shifted to the medical college hospital following breathing issues. A plus two student brought the pepper spray named Redcop. Teachers entered the class when the student was using the pepper spray.
Meantime, Health Minister Veena George directed the superintendent to ensure adequate treatment for the students of Punnamoodu School admitted at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The doctors said the health condition of the students is satisfactory. A student, who had breathing issues earlier, is under bservation at the Intensive Care Unit.
