Two districts likely to receive heavy rainfall on Thiruvonam day; IMD issues yellow alert

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With widespread showers continuing across Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert in several districts for the next three days.

September 3: Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod
September 4: Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod
September 5 (Onam day): Kannur and Kasaragod

These districts are expected to receive heavy rainfall. According to the IMD, “heavy rain” refers to rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
