Two labourers killed while digging well

KANNUR: Two labourers engaged in digging a well were killed after the rope broke. The tragic incident happened near Satheesan Road at Munderi Kadav in Mayyil, Kannur. They have been identified as Abdul Gafoor of Cheleri Mukku, and Rajesh of Athazhakunnu in Kannur. Rajesh was presently residing on Kannadiparamba Talkies Road.

The accident happened this morning at 6.30. When they were digging the well, the rope broke and Gafoor and Rajesh fell down. The locals and the fire brigade later pulled them out and took them to Kannur AKG Hospital, but their lives could not be saved. The bodies have been shifted to the mortuary.
