Two youths killed as KSRTC bus rams bike in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: Two motorists were killed after a KSRTC superfast bus rammed their bike in Haripad junction. The incident happened at 11.30 pm last night. The accident happened near Union Bank, west of Haripad Government Hospital. The dead have been identified as Gokul (24), son of Pradeep Kumar and Girija of Cheduvalli near Kumarapuram Kochukarunat Temple and an officer of the Cherthala Fire Force Office, and Sreenath (24), son of Sreekumar and Thulasi of Sreenilayam.

Eyewitnesses said the speeding bus hit the two. The youths fell on the road hitting their heads due to the impact of the collision. The youths met with the accident when they were returning home after having food from a hotel in Haripad. Both died on the spot itself. The bodies are kept in the mortuary of the government hospital.
