Kerala University official fined Rs 25,000 for refusing to provide RTI document

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Information Officer of Kerala University P Raghavan has been fined Rs 25,000. State Information Commissioner Dr KL Vivekanandan has issued the order. The fine must be paid within 30 days.

The syndicate has banned Kerala University Department of Psychology Head Prof Emmanuel Thomas from entering the campus till the completion of investigation against another professor Johnson. He was suspended for misbehaving with girl students. Prof Emmanuel was the one who reported the incident. P Raghavan refused to give a copy of these files. The order of the commission is in an appeal filed by Emmanuel. Raghavan has retired from the service and is currently working as a special officer in Kerala University.
