Actress Shanthi Williams is familiar to many including Malayalees through many serials and films. She is married to J Williams, noted cinematographer, producer and director. She is mostly seen in Tamil serials now.
Her statements on the Hema Committee report are going viral now. She said that she is not interested to talk about the Malayalam film industry and women are not safe to work there. She said this while talking to a Tamil YouTube Channel.
‘I’m not interested to talk about the Malayalam film industry. The reason is that there are a lot of politics here. It is not a safe place for women. The people here come and knock on our doors at night even at the rooms of women aged 66,70 and 90-year-old. It a thing which I don’t like. I’ve been doing films for quite some time. Our people are not like that. They have never knocked on our doors or misbehaved with us. I will bow my head to the Tamil and Andhra industry for that,’ the actress said.
