Woman mistakenly sends WhatsApp message to Rahul; then came ‘hi, hello’, demands having three children

PATHANAMTHITTA: The complainant in her statement said that she got Rahul Mamkootathil MLA’s number via her friend. She said that she simply saved the number in her phone. She clarified that she had never called Rahul even once. The complainant, a woman has been working in Canada since 2019.

In September 2023, the woman had sent a link of a courtier company to her childhood friend another Rahul from her hometown to order a mobile phone for her father. However, she accidentally sent the message to Rahul Mamkootathil's number. She immediately deleted the message. From then on, she started getting hi, hello messages from him. Later when they started chatting, he asked her about her family. He spoke like someone he had known for years.

She did not hide from Rahul about her marriage. In between their conversations, he used to ask her about her husband and children. Rahul's attitude changed when she said that the reason for not having children was due to some inconsistencies in the marriage. The woman said that he kept forcing her to leave her husband, to come and marry him.


Rahul had expressed his desire to have at least three children. However, Rahul told the woman that as he is busy, he needs a good mother to look after their children. Rahul admitted that he would not be a good partner, but assured to be a good father to their children. When the woman expressed doubt whether this relationship would be a ‘time pass’, he told her that he would introduce his family to her when she reaches home.
