Complete poverty eradication, elimination of stray dog attacks: UDF releases manifesto

KOCHI: The UDF has promised in its manifesto to ensure complete poverty eradication, garbage removal and eliminate the attacks from stray dogs. Modern technologies will be used for the development of the state.

Key promises

* Second phase of Ashraya project for poverty alleviation

* Action plan to eradicate poverty of yellow and pink ration card holders

* Indira Canteen to provide food at low prices

* System for waste collection including biowaste in all households

* Meat and waste disposal and ABC to solve the issue of stray dogs

* Special unit to prevent epidemics

* Additional benefits for Anganwadi workers

* Special squad in wildlife-prone areas

* Five lakh houses within five years.

* Roads will be made smart. Emergency team to fill potholes

* Tourism will be expanded. Parking and home stay facilities will be increased

* Slaughterhouses will be modernised

* Modern public crematoriums in local bodies

* Number of comfort stations, she toilets and bio toilets will be increased

* Urban Anganwadis and childcare centres in corporations

* Special fund for women entrepreneurs

* AI skill courses for students of classes 5 to 10

* Potholed panchayat roads to be repaired within 100 days

* Additional allowance of Rs. 2000 for ASHA workers

* Mustering of pension beneficiaries once every two years

* Ration will be delivered to the homes of bedridden patients

* Orders that took back the powers of local bodies will be cancelled

* Standing committees for disaster management

* Emergency Medical Relief Fund will be expanded
