THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior CPM leader E P Jayarajan has expressed his willingness to step down from the LDF convenor post. He informed this to the party. The crucial move comes at a time when the state committee is all set to discuss EP's relationship with the BJP. He left to Kannur this morning without attending the CPM state committee.
The rift between EP and the party has been evident for the past few days. EP has often made public statements which had often irked the party. Meanwhile, there was a move in the CPM to restrain EP from the BJP relationship. He informed the party that he is ready to step down under the circumstances that action may likely be taken against EP.
However, EP responded to a media saying that now he has no information about it and asked to find out from where they got it. EP said that he will not attend the meeting in Thiruvananthapuram as he has some programmes in Kannur. He said let everything happen. However, he did not rule out that he was willing to resign.
