'He spoke to me very badly that day without even considering that I'm a woman'; actress Roshna raises allegation against driver Yadhu

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actress Roshna Ann Roy has raised an allegation against KSRTC driver Yadhu, who was engaged in a verbal altercation with Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran in the middle of the road. In her Facebook post, Roshna alleged that she too faced a bad experience from the same driver during a journey in the past and that she had complained to the MVD against Yadhu.

Roshna said that Yadhu behaved rudely towards her while she was travelling from Malappuram to Ernakulam with her brother.

"I am not trying to discuss politics or justify one side. However, I'm certain that Yadhu got what he deserved to get. Yadhu, all the passengers on the bus and the MVD witnessed the bad words that you said to my face. I am putting this post so that the honourable transport department authorities become aware of his behaviour,' Roshna wrote.

"I also have some things to say. On that day, my brother and I were travelling from Malappuram to Ernakulam in our car. As some maintenance work was going on in the Kunnamkulam route, there was hardly enough space for a vehicle to move forward. The traffic was slow-moving. At this time, this very same KSRTC bus came behind our car after overtaking all other vehicles. The KSRTC driver then started honking repeatedly. There was not enough space for us to give way to the bus. Yet, he carelessly took the bus forward and dangerously overtook our car. This is how most KSRTC drivers drive. They are not at all bothered about signboards and warnings. As the traffic was slow-moving, my car came behind the KSRTC bus. This time, I repeatedly honked behind the bus just like how the bus driver did,' Roshna wrote.

'I immediately got a reply from the bus driver. He stopped the bus in the middle of the road and came out of it. He then shouted at us and used very bad language without even considering that I was a woman. After that, he got onto the bus and drove the bus away. After some time, we saw the bus being stopped to pick up passengers. The Motor Vehicle Department Inspector was also there. We immediately stopped the car and informed the inspector about the matter. On seeing this, the bus driver stopped the bus and started to blame me for disrupting his duty. Following this, the inspector intervened and solved the matter,' she wrote.

"However, I was very much disturbed by the language that the driver used against us. Although I tried to file a complaint by contacting the number provided at the back of the KSRTC buses, the number was not reachable. Anyway, it is a good thing that the police have registered a case against the driver for misbehaving with the Mayor. If this is the way he speaks to the Mayor, then one would not be surprised at the language he used against an ordinary person like me. Yadhu thinks that he can do anything he wants as he is a KSRTC driver. I would like to request the Transport Department authorities to take appropriate action against such people without protecting them,' Roshna added.
