THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC driver HL Yadhu's mother has responded to the incident in which Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran and family engaged in an altercation with her son after blocking the bus driven by him. Speaking to a private channel, Yadhu's mother asked how Arya and her family members saw the gesture made by Yadhu from that height.
"While both the parties were at fault in the incident, only my son was taken for medical examination. Why were the mayor and family not subjected to a medical examination? The police accepted the mayor's complaint without accepting my son's complaint. The mayor said that she was speaking for women. How can she ask the driver if the road was his father's property? How can she speak in such a manner while sitting in the position of a mayor? I have never seen my son using drugs," Yadhu's mother said.
Meanwhile, the footage that surfaced yesterday shows that the driver was not at fault in the incident. The passengers on the bus also responded in favour of the driver. However, with CPM state secretary MV Govindan coming out in support of the mayor, the KSRTC authorities are planning to close the case by putting the blame on the driver.
