'Knew about his 'messages' from a woman'; Akhil Marar responds to Rahul Mamkootathil issue

Director Akhil Marar responded to the allegations levelled against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. Marar demanded that Rahul resign from his MLA post, keeping the moral standards high. The director also revealed that he had heard previously about such complaints against the MLA.

AKHIL MARAR:

“I don’t respond to all issues, as some may be fabricated to divert attention from other serious matters. However, I have previously also been informed about Rahul’s escapades. Initially, I found no wrong in his text messages with women.

When I said that some girls faced certain troubles during the Bigg Boss auditions, it was twisted in a way to depict that every woman attending the show’s audition had to engage in sexual compromise to get into the show.

Similarly, I feared my response getting twisted if I were to talk about Rahul’s case. It was for the same reason that I kept quiet.

The Youth Congress State President is a dream position for any young leader in Kerala. Congress made Rahul relinquish the position after allegations popped up. It is one of the greatest decisions a party could take. Even many senior leaders are still vying for a prized position in Congress, while Rahul became the State President of the Youth Congress at a very young age.

Rahul was vibrant, did well in debates and often attacked the Marxists ruthlessly, which helped him climb the ladder of power at a very young age. If he had any understanding of the magnitude of the position he holds and future possibilities, Rahul would not have engaged in his escapades so recklessly. Rahul treated women as simply bodies to fulfil pleasure.

As a public representative, Rahul has the freedom to enter any house. How will he be able to enter any house in his constituency again? Such is the damage done to his character. Congress understood the change in approach among the public towards the MLA and thus acted swiftly to strip him of power.

On another note, no politician in Kerala is fit enough to criticise Rahul or take him down for his alleged crimes."
