Shafiq's scam in the name of beef trade caught

KANNUR: In Kannur, MDMA worth lakhs was seized from a beef stall in the college premises. Shafiq, a native of Taliparamba, who runs a beef stall in the vicinity of Sir Syed College, Taliparamba, was caught by excise with 57.7 grams of MDMA. He was nabbed during a lightning raid conducted under the leadership of Taliparamba Excise Circle Inspector Shijil Kumar. He used to deliver drugs to the youths under the cover of a butcher's shop in a way that no one would suspect. He was caught after a clever move by the Excise Shadow team.

The party included Preventive Officer Ashraf Malapattam, Civil Excise Officers Vinesh TV, Mohammad Haris K, and Woman Civil Excise Officer Ramya P.
