NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea seeking a stop at Tirur for the Vande Bharat Express running through Kerala. The petition filed by PT Sijeesh from Tirur alleged political reasons for not allowing a stop at the major railway station in Malappuram district.
Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud stated that considering this petition would open the door for similar petitions from different parts of the country. The court bench emphasized that it cannot interfere in matters concerning stops for the Vande Bharat Express.
The Chief Justice concluded that the train should continue its current route without any additional stops. The plea was presented to the Supreme Court by Adv. Sriram Parakkat.
