Statement of KSEB Chairman and Managing Director on Thiruvambady Section Office Attack
The Hon'ble Minister of the Electricity Department has directed to restore the electricity connection in the said house if an assurance is received that KSEB staff or office will not be attacked again. Kozhikode District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh has been asked to send officials to Thiruvambady to get such an assurance.
There are 11 electricity connections in the name of the attacker's father. Ten of them are commercial connections. In case of regular non-payment of electricity bill, there are often verbal arguments and threats with the officials who come to disconnect the electricity.
Legal action will be taken against the attack and all damages caused by them to KSEB will be recovered from them. KSEB is ready to provide the connection today if it gets the assurance of no more attacks.
