KOZHIKODE: The electricity connection that was severed following the attack on the section office in Thiruvambady will be restored today. It was decided to restore the electricity connection after the discussion held by the Thamarassery Tehsildar with the accused Ajmal's father Razak, his family and KSEB officials. Tehsildar informed that electricity will be restored today. The collector intervened and tasked the tehsildar to discuss the matter as per the government's instructions after the incident became controversial. The Tehsildar held discussions with both sides based on this.

However, Razak and his family refused the Tehsildar's demand to give an affidavit that there would be no more problems. Razak and his family refused to sign the affidavit. The affidavit contained remarks such as "expressing regret for the violence committed by my children".

Meanwhile, KSEB chairman Biju Prabhakar had earlier informed that the electricity would be restored if they get assurances that they will not attack the employees or the office again. The statement was released through KSEB's official Facebook post.

The chairman explained that there are 11 electricity connections in the name of the attacker's father and verbal arguments and threats used to happen with the officials who came to disconnect the electricity bill in case of regular non-payment. The chairman had clarified that he would move with legal proceedings and recover the entire damages caused to KSEB from them.
