Youth stabbed to death by friends following argument over lack of respect for age

CHENNAI: A youth was stabbed to death by his friends after an argument over the lack of respect for his age. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Raghavendra. He was allegedly stabbed to death by his four 20-year-old friends. Four accused including Ajay, Balaji and Nizamuddin were taken into police custody.

The incident took place on Saturday in Palavakkam, Tamil Nadu. Raghavendra complained that his younger friends are not respecting him. A verbal spat ensued which resulted in the murder. The youth had been friends for many years. The argument began after they got together for a drink. Later Raghavendra walked home. Enraged, the accused followed. There was another verbal argument on the road when the accused stabbed Raghavendra with a knife. On hearing the sound, the locals rushed to the scene to find that Raghavendra was seriously injured. The police took him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injury. The persons accused were earlier arraigned for another fight case.
