Kerala hit all-time record in number of domestic tourists in 2022

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister PA Mohammed Riyas on Wednesday told the Assembly that 1.88 crore domestic tourists visited Kerala in 2022. The highest number of domestic tourists arrived in Ernakulam district. Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Thrissur and Wayanad are other districts that welcomed a high number of tourists. Prior to Covid, the maximum number of domestic tourists to Kerala in a year was 1,83,84,233. In 2022, this increased to 1,88,67,414, which is a growth of 2.63 percent.

Six districts have achieved an all-time record in the number of domestic tourists. Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Wayanad, Alappuzha, Malappuram and Thiruvananthapuram districts made the most gains.
