BJP plans ahead of Lok Sabha elections in 2024, special focus on 'lost' constituencies

NEW DELHI: The BJP has formed a supervisory committee to strengthen the work in 160 constituencies, where the party lost in the last Lok Sabha elections. The committee, comprising three national general secretaries, will decide matters from booth-level activities to the campaign schedule of leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The committee comprises general secretaries Sunil Bansal, Vinod Tawde and Tarun Chugh along with Naresh Bansal MP, who is in charge of UP, national secretary Harish Dwivedi MP and national vice president Baijayant "Jay" Panda. The task of the committee is to create a winning situation in all 160 constituencies through a year's work. Sunil Bansal has led the party to continued success in Uttar Pradesh. He is also in direct charge of the states of Odisha, Telangana and West Bengal.

Duties of supervisory committee

  • Strengthen booth committees.
  • Evaluate and report on the performance of Union Ministers and party leaders who come to constituencies.
  • Identify conflicts within the party and report solutions.
  • Monitor and take action on assigned responsibilities and performance to local leaders
  • Conduct monthly review meeting in constituencies to ensure that there is no slack in activities.
  • Formulate and implement the plan to spread the benefits of central schemes to the masses
  • Schedule travel and campaign rallies of leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and national president JP Nadda.
