OTTAWA: 700 Indian students will be deported from Canada. As per reports, these students were given fake offer letters to get admission in colleges. The students received a notice from the Canadian Border Security Agency.
According to media reports, these students applied for student visas through Jalandhar-based Education Migration Service headed by Brijesh Mishra. It is reported that Rs 16 lakh including admission fee was charged from a student. This does not include flight ticket and security deposit.
The students went to Canada for studies during 2018-19. The fraud came to light when they applied for PR (Permanent Resident) in Canada. As part of PR, the admission offer letters were scrutinized and found to be fake. Most of the students are employed after completing their studies.
