kk

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sree Narayana Guru's teeth, the only bodily remains of the social reformer, will remain in the temple at the Guru Devagiri complex in Mumbai for devotees to do darshan. The officials of Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti said that the teeth, which are kept in a special gold casket in an airtight shield, will not be brought to Sivagiri. There are three teeth, including two artificial teeth and one molar tooth.

Dr Gopal Shivraj Pal, son of Dr GO Pal, who was in possession of the teeth, handed them over to Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti by writing a special agreement. According to the agreement, the possession of the teeth belongs to the Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti. Devotees have an opportunity to visit the teeth on the last day of the Gurudevagiri pilgrimage, which is from the first Friday to Sunday of every February. Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti president MI Damodaran told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that the governing body wants Guru's teeth to remain in Mumbai.

Sri Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Satchidananda and General Secretary Swami Subhamgananda said that no one, including Shivraj Pal, has come forward expressing readiness to hand over the teeth of Gurudeva.
