THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The jury members for this year's Kerala state film awards will have a tough time determining the award winners. 154 movies will compete for the honours. This is the first time that there are so many films in competition. There will be two preliminary juries and a final jury. Screening of films for the award will be held in May.
There were 142 films in the competition last year. This time, two preliminary juries will watch and evaluate 77 films each. From that, 30 percent of the films will be left for consideration by the final jury. The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy is trying to find filmmakers who are not related to the films that have been considered for the award to the jury.
