'Trying to defame Sudhakaran through social media'; members turn against V D Satheesan in KPCC meeting

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Harsh criticism against opposition leader V D Satheesan surfaced during the KPCC meeting held on Thursday. The opposition leader's interference in the preparations related to the local elections was put under scrutiny by the members.

Intruding in KPCC’s authority and unanimously taking decisions without informing the leaders in charge of the districts were the major criticism directed at Satheesan. The criticism was in the emergency leadership meeting held online at 6 pm on Thursday.

“A personal staff member of the Leader of the Opposition has started a WhatsApp group as an admin and is passing instructions and circulars through it. This is a parallel operation. It was Satheesan, who took away the sheen of the party’s leadership camp in Wayanad. The discussions from the meetings were leaked to the media. Satheesan is trying to impose an authoritative model inside the KPCC”

In addition to the circular sent by the KPCC regarding the local elections, some of the general secretaries had complained to the AICC office-bearers in charge of Kerala showing that the opposition leader had forwarded some instructions to the DCCs without informing them. Based on this, the emergency committee was convened online.

In the performance audit conducted under the leadership of the AICC secretaries in charge of Kerala, some leaders raised criticism and complaints against some DCC presidents. Complaints were made against the presidents of Idukki, Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha. Some also demanded that the presidents of the Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts intensify their activities.

A total of 22 members including General Secretaries and Vice Presidents participated in the meeting convened by KPCC president K Sudhakaran.

The Sudhakaran faction within KPCC also complained about Satheesan planning moves to defame Sudhakaran on social media.
