NEW DELHI: The CPM Politburo has condemned the personal abuses against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala. CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury said in a press conference that the people will give a befitting reply to the moves made by the Congress and the UDF by teaming up with the BJP targetting the LDF government.
"BJP is using defamation cases to attack the opposition. This is another method of implicating opposition leaders using central agencies. By disqualifying Rahul, BJP's intolerance and totalitarian ways have been exposed. Instead of answering the questions, the BJP is obstructing the parliamentary proceedings. Those, including the Vice President and Union Law Minister, are leading these attacks," Yechury said.
No broad alliance at the national level
Yechury said that the electoral alliances in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be according to the conditions of the state.
"There will be LDF-UDF competition in Kerala. We can talk about the Wayanad by-election after seeing the court proceedings related to Rahul's disqualification. It seems that the JPC probe into the Adani issue is being delayed as the Centre has something to hide," he said.
"PB has given directions to resolve intra-party issues in Andhra Pradesh. BV Raghavalu will continue as a member of the Politburo. The move against Christian and Muslim sects is continuing in the country with the aim of polarization. An example of this is the BJP government's removal of reservations for Muslim communities in Karnataka," Yechury added.
