BENGALURU: More revelations have come out in the gruesome murder case where a woman was killed, chopped into pieces and stored in a refrigerator. It was the woman's husband who made the new revelations. The deceased is Mahalakshmi, a native of Bihar.
Mahalakshmi's husband Hemant Das told the national media that his wife had an illicit affair and was murdered by her boyfriend. He also said that he had filed a complaint against Mahalakshmi's boyfriend with the police a few months ago.
"I had filed a complaint against her boyfriend at the Nelamangala police station a few months ago. Following this, he was warned not to come to Bengaluru. However, I don't know where else they went," Hemant Das said.
City Police Commissioner B Dayanand announced yesterday that further details about the suspect cannot be revealed at this time. The remains of Mahalakshmi were discovered in an apartment in Vyalikaval, Bengaluru after neighbours reported a strong foul odour emanating from the residence.
Mahalakshmi previously lived with her husband and four-year-old daughter in a different flat. After separating from her husband, she moved to a new apartment, where she lived alone. She had been working in a shopping mall in the city and was not close to her neighbours. The woman used to leave for work every morning on her two-wheeler and return to her flat around 10 pm.
Police have found that Mahalakshmi's mobile phone had been switched off since September 2. Hence, the investigating officers believe that the murder might have taken place on that day. As part of the investigation, the police conducted a detailed examination of the CCTV footage collected from the area.
