THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala renaissance remembrance journey led by KPCC Vice President Kodikunumil Suresh MP from Aruvipuram where Sree Narayana guru Shiva Pratishta was established, to Vaikom Satyagraha centenary celebration, reached the CV Kunhiraman Smriti Sangamavedi in front of Kerala Kaumudi Petta office yesterday. The Jatha Captain placed flowers on CV Kunhiraman's portrait.

Kodikunnil said that we cannot move forward without remembering Kerala Kaumudi and CV Kunhiraman, the founder of the newspaper, who played a great role in the struggle for freedom and social justice. CV Kunhiraman is the person who inspired the Vaikom Satyagraha with the support of Sree Narayanaguru. Kodikunnil said that it is a matter of pride that Kerala Kaumudi is continuing the tradition of renaissance that he upheld, without deviation. DCC president Palode Ravi was the chairman. Palode Ravi said that Kerala Kaumudi is a brave example of the renaissance movement. He also added that by coming in front of Kerala Kaumudi on the second day of the Smriti Yatra, the message of renaissance upheld through the Yatra became more attractive.

Congress leaders Maryapuram Sreekumar, G Subodhan, GS Babu, VS Sivakumar, T Saratchandraprasad, KS Sabarinathan, Neyyatinkara Sanal, K Mohankumar, Cherian Philip, Manvila Radhakrishnan, Chembzanthi Anil, Petta former ward councilor D Anilkumar, DCC office bearers Anath Jayan, MA Padmakumar, Xavier Lopez, Thulail Sasi, Kadakampally Haridas, C Jayachandran, Abhilash R Nair, Laharbhava, Chaka Ravi, AJ Akhil, K Gopalakrishnan Nair, AK Nisar, BV Jayakumar and others participated.

Yesterday, the procession started from Mahatma Iyenkali's memorial at Venganur. They also visited Ayya Vaikundha Swamy Memorial at MSK Nagar, Palayam Raktasakshi Mandapam, and Chattambiswamy Memorial at Kannammula. NSS Thiruvananthapuram Taluk Union President M Sangeet Kumar handed over the portrait of Mannath Padmanabhan to KPCC ex-president Thennala Balakrishna Pillai at Shankhummugam, Vaikom satyagraha savarna jatha sangama bhoomi. Then the Jatha Captain took over. The Renaissance remembrance journey will conclude on 29th Vaikom.
