KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode police have registered a case in the incident regarding a controversial attire during the welcome song of the 61st Kerala State School Kalolsavam. A case was filed against the Matha Perambra director and ten persons under the instructions of the Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court IV under Section 153A of the IPC.
Controversy arose when a man dressed as a Muslim was portrayed as a terrorist in the welcome song. Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle director Anoop VR filed a complaint with the Nadakavu police to register a case, but the police refused. Then Anoop approached the court.
Earlier, the Education department had informed that Matha Perambra will be banned from Kalolsavam from now on. CPM and League also came out against Matha Perambra. The welcome song was performed when the Chief Minister and ministers were on stage.
