Two cheetahs named Asha and Oban, were released into the wild in a restricted area in Kuno National Park on March 11. There was information about hunting cheetahs. The central government intervened and brought twenty cheetahs to India in two batches from Namibia and South Africa. Eight of these are from Namibia and 12 from South Africa. One of the female cheetahs brought to India recently gave birth to four cubs. The intention behind this was to make a home for cheetahs, which were thought to have become extinct in India in 1952.
