BJP MLA urges Modi to demolish Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar and build temples, demands probe on Shahjahan-Mumtaz love affair

DISPUR: Assam BJP MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi has come forward urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demolish Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar and build temples instead. A video of him demanding an investigation into whether Mughal emperor Shahjahan truly loved Mumtaz, is going viral on the social media.

He urged Modi to demolish Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar and build temples instead. The MLA said that he is willing to donate his one-year’s salary for the construction of temples.

‘I urge the Prime Minister to immediately demolish the two monuments. In place of these two, the world's most beautiful temples should be built. The architecture of the temples should be such that no other monuments could be even closer to them,’ said the MLA.

‘Why did Shahjahan marry thrice after the death of Mumtaz. If he had loved Mumtaz, then why did he marry thrice after her death. He claimed that one of the seven wonders of the world was built with the wealth of Hindu royalty.
